A truly safe remote way of collecting and verifying identities.
Simplified.id App is a fully compliant and robust identity verification tool.
As part of the overall KYC checks, this app locates and unlocks the NFC chip in biometric passports from 193 countries across the globe, meaning, by using the Simlified.ID app, you can now verify a client’s identity anywhere in the world.
The App seamlessly links to our user portal and API, making it easy to carry out a myriad of additional KYC checks without having to enter additional client data.
Once the client has completed the request, the documents will appear in your account under the client management area, which will then allow you to perform the relevant checks as normal with your clients information already pre-populated and proceed unlock the client’s passport chip.
Users trigger an App journey for their customers from within their Simplified.ID login on the portal.
Customer Journey
- Recieve an email and text message to their chosen email and mobile number.
- Download the Simplified.ID App
- Log into the app, using the credentials sent via SMS or email
- Select which documents they wish to wish to upload
- Capture the chosen documents using their device
- Follow all instructions
- Their device then sends the capture back to the User and the process is complete

Why choose NFC chip ?
The use of an App that leverages the NFC reader for unlocking passports is the highest level of identity check that can be achieved.
- NFC is encrypted by the Passport Office of the country of issue
- The NFC is encrypted and signed by a verifiable digital certificate
- As such the NFC is 99.99% reliable as an accurate record of the customers identity
- NFC chips contain all the data printed on the document including a high resolution picture of the customer
- A fake passport will not have the same data on the chip as that which is printed on it
- It protects all the data from the device with high level in transit encryption
- It mitigates the possibility of deepfakes
- Reduces the likelihood of phishing
- Prevents injection attacks
Why an App & not a web form
Because of the proprietary nature and control of our App we have a greater certainty that no one can manipulate the journey and pose as a “man in the middle” and perform deep fake injection attack.
Simplified.ID Ltd took the decision, as a result of the ever evolving threat vectors within the market from the likes of AI. Having better control over an App journey is the most robust way forward.
Our job is to make your customers journey as friction free as we can, however we also have to protect you, our user, from the growing threats from criminals, this is why we have taken this decision.
Is it safe and secure
This is a very good question and one that has been at the forefront of our minds since the day we started our development process.
The best way to explain our approach to data security is to begin at the start of the documents journey.
- The user enters the clients details i.e. Name, Email Address, Mobile Phone number and Postcode. This will then send a text message and email prompt directly to the client.
- The client will then download the ValidateMe app and enter their email address or mobile phone number along with the secure code that has been sent to them via email/text message.
- Once the user has successfully signed in, they will be asked to upload the documents requested and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If they are happy with their uploads and liveness check the information will be securely captured and encrypted using an encryption key unique to the client/session.
- As soon as the client has finished the session of capturing all the documents they need to, they will be told to close the app and the session will expire along with the documents previously captured, meaning no documents are left on the phone encrypted or otherwise.
- Once the files are received by our system they are decrypted and re-encrypted using your user specific account encryption key.
- Each account on our system has its own encryption key this ensures a far greater level of security for your client’s important documents and data.
- You the user will then be able to sign into your Simplified.ID account and access the documents securely via the client management area.
